HotRank distinguishes official announcements, independent reporting, vendor descriptions and editorial inference. A visible claim needs an appropriate source and a clear scope; a seller's demo or pricing page is not a HotRank output test.
Sources and uncertain evidence
For dates, access rules and release plans we start with the responsible publisher. For prices and settings we inspect the seller's current public pages and label those as advertised terms. Independent reporting helps establish context, rather than certifying every product. When sources disagree, we preserve the conflict instead of averaging it away. Missing evidence is stated as unknown; a historical snapshot does not become a current fact merely because an article was rebuilt.
Popularity estimates require their geography, period and method. A third-party traffic estimate is not an official user count. We do not invent rankings, view totals or global demand from a single viral clip.
What we mean by testing
The first Hotel Lobby roundup compares public offers. HotRank has not logged in, uploaded private portraits, purchased a render or inspected the finished MP4. We therefore do not claim tested quality, successful checkout, speed or uptime. A future hands-on comparison would need consistent authorized inputs, saved outputs and bills, an explicit target specification and disclosure of any sponsor.
Four distinct clocks
An event date says when something happens. A fact-check date says when we checked its source. First publication says when this HotRank edition became public. A material-update date identifies a substantive change to its facts or interpretation. Proofreading and ordinary builds do not reset publication or material-update dates.
Time-sensitive test status and quoted prices require a source refresh before a later release. This is an editorial maintenance process; it is not a promise that every vendor is monitored continuously. Official future plans are described as plans.
AI-assisted drafting and editorial responsibility
AI tools can help organize evidence, suggest structure and draft language. They do not establish the truth of a claim. The editorial process checks dates, qualifications, sources, citations and wording against public evidence, and reviews the rendered page. We do not use generated staff identities or fabricated test experiences. AI assistance does not guarantee discovery, rankings or citation by other AI services.
Bilingual review
Chinese editions are independently edited with shared factual evidence. A price, deadline, region, language restriction or correction must be reflected in both editions and their relevant summaries. Titles can differ to explain the same topic naturally. Before publishing, both complete bodies, links and matching language routes are checked.
Independence and disclosure
We do not sell rankings or featured editorial placement. Current source and vendor links support the reporting; the launch articles contain no paid-placement or affiliate claim. Any future sponsored or affiliate relationship must be visibly disclosed close to the affected content, and must not be presented as independent testing.
How to request a correction
Email hot@hotrank.today with the URL, the specific claim and supporting evidence. We review the evidence and, when a material factual mistake is confirmed, correct the statement and record what changed and why. Related English and Chinese bodies, topic summaries and factual metadata are checked together. Minor wording or formatting corrections do not acquire a new material-update date. We do not promise a response deadline.
The Hotel Lobby comparison shows a preserved pricing conflict; the March test report shows qualification and time limits. See About for the project's role and Privacy for actual data practices.
